A Small Victory

I know I still have a huge amount to learn as a parent. In the last ten years, I have become mum to three awesomely, wonderful kids. They have completed me and have made me a better person in so many ways. I can't express to you how grateful I am for them, or how much I love them.

To be honest, though, most of the time, I feel that I am holding on by a thread as I try my hardest not to completely mess it up. There are days and months when I am not sure that I am doing any of it right, but then there will be a moment of something great, a smile or a small victory at a mealtime or bedtime and it gives me that little boost of energy to keep going.

At the moment, I am trying to learn as much as I can about how to create in myself and instill a growth mindset in my own children and the children that I teach. Parenting has to be the most growth mindset needing activity (not sure if that's the right word!) of all, in which you have to think that it will be ok if you keep going and keep working hard at it.

Today was a good day, a small victory day, when a behaviour/idea/attitude that I had been trying to impart for a very long time, seemed to start to emerge. Tomorrow will present new challenges as it always does, but for tonight I am going to celebrate a small victory.
